The Yorkville School

The Yorkville School (TYS) is a private secondary school registered under the Ontario Ministry of Education.

The primary goal of YHS is to help and educate students in fulfillment of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). All YHS students must successfully complete a total of 30 credits (18 of which are compulsory), the Ontario Literacy Test and 40 hours of community service in order to be granted the OSSD. An OSSD is globally recognized as being equivalent to those obtained from the United States or Commonwealth countries.

At TYS, students are taught in an enriched manner and nurturing environment. We focus on the development of academic skills and critical thinking to prepare students for entry into post-secondary education (colleges and universities) as well as preparing students for the future workplace. Our graduates experience great success at post-secondary institutions in Canada and throughout the world.

TYS is conveniently located in North York (Greater Toronto Area) and is easily accessible via the 401, 404 and 407 highways and via public transit. Along with high academic standards, TYS offers a wide range of courses, extracurricular activities, and individual guidance.

Canada’s high academic standards and rigorous quality control give our students a high-quality educative experience that benefits them over the long term.

We proudly help students achieve their educative aspirations!

--First-class team of teachers

We are concerned about students’ academic progress, but also consider their personal development. Small class teaching ensures each student receives individualized instruction and adequate attention. Our faculty shares a common goal - to nurture our students and reveal their academic potential.

--Strict management system

TYS strict management and one to one counseling help students discover growth in academics and possible paths to post-secondary studies. The TYS has high admission percentages for top universities including Stanford and University of Toronto.

--A wide range of student interactive activities

We believe talented individuals working together achieve course outcomes. The TYS has partnered with many well-known secondary schools to plan extra-curricular programs together. These partnerships with different schools encourage student interaction and collaboration.

--Social practices

TYS organizes social practices to not only allow the student's spaces to engage in social, cultural conventions and cognitive development, but also to help improve independence and sense of responsibility. Every year, our students will participate in all aspects of volunteer work, university campus tours, and internships. These social practices help guide students to their future goals and career.

--96% of our graduates successfully achieved university admission.
